For You

For You
Let’s talk about this

Do we really want to talk this

Searching for the right thing

Dying is the end game

But this I do, Ido this

Do you love me in this moment

Do you like the blood in my visage

Or do you just want me to hide

Do you want to see my blood on the streets

Do you want to see the soldiers lost

Army strong , human weak

We bleed, but that’s not the end of all things

Let’s talk about it

Can we talk about this

Or maybe just enjoy this

Then just ignore that this bleeds

Then a man dies

A woman dies

A sister tried to be true

A brother muscles so true

Do you feel me

You are just happy for another holiday

I understand

We understand

And we love you still

No Hero

No Hero

I held up my hand and my heart I gave

I suffered through pain, mental disdain

The road was rough, but this path was my making

I happily walked the path nary taken

Not a god or a hero

Just a scared boy, shivering in a distant rain

Missing my mother, missing the comfort in which I was raised

Wanting only to be home again

But this path is the road

And I will forever strive to honor the pledge taken

Though I may cry as night comes again

I want to run

I want to hide from unfounded hate

I dread my feet being drench in blood

My psyche battles against my training

But this is my fight

So no one will have to fight again

None of my friends will feel any pain

My brother will live to old age

My sister no tears

No other than my mother will pray against all that is

For her I give the gift of the one protecting all that is

I hope she will smile as I succeed

And understand the sacrifice I may be called to give

No hero

No savior

Just a boy needing to give

No matyr or even a patriot really

I serve because I needed to give

Just a man, I wanted my life to have meaning

My life to you I give

My service

Just an extension of your love

Just a manifestation

Of the need to be free
