forever song

[rest in peace, sister maya]

 

nothing so beautiful. strong. free

the bird no longer caged. soars. sings

a song of freedom. boundaries disassemble.

voice no longer shackle. mind. mindful

of southern winds. leading the northern

wind. sheltering and seeding.  nurturing.

leading hand in hand to greater things.

now i know why the caged bird sings.

transformed to the angel. keep rising.

never stop singing.

church listen to me. i will preach
i will speak in terms. giving terms
listen to me. i want to holla
or maybe i just want to be heard
from noontime to midnight rants. lets
fellowship and see where we have come
lets rally and cry and take up
pens that spill ink on the land
lets talk and debate and argue
shooting consonants and spraying
words until morning comes
words of mass destruction is
what we will construct
destructing the ignorance of
what the world has become
building walls of vowels
a, e, i do owe you something
i owe you a voice for listening
your ear my drum, as i beat
and sing, listen, i am your metronome

missed you as i slumbered in neverland. i

thought of you at the precipice of midnight.

you kept me warm and kissed my forehead

i sweated heavily thinking. you. my dreams

invaded by a likeness of you. she. you were

the beautiful sunrise i knew coming. you. she

was the boost i needed to control the day. you.

my sun sets. you.

i am you. far into past times gone.
loving you and hating you until i once again
loved you in the morning and kissed you.
good night my love. are you me.
as sun rises and forget that light
was asleep for many years. okay just hours
but love lost can feel like an eternity
the moments betwixt the sweet kiss
lingers until amber resin sets
hearts coalesce. questions never asked.
how my name is everything to you?
your eyes. my face a panoramic view.
